Contested annually in November, the Super Series is a fun cricket tournament for amateur cricketers. The tournament is the premier networking event for working professional and business owners that also drives community development in Trinidad and Tobago. The objectives of the Super Series are: Community: To develop a strong community network built around the sport of cricket where alumni, their families, working professionals, sponsors and members of the public can meet in a safe environment for networking, community development and growing grassroots cricket. Cricket Development: To assist the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board in the trialing of new technology, rules and training opportunities. Also to provide students from UWI students practice experience in sports management, media, logistics etc. Women's Development: Grow the involvement of women in cricket in an administrative and playing capacity. In the long term we are aiming to have a women's tournament as well as female administrators and coaches emerge from this initiative. Corporate Social Initiative: Proactively combat the social ills facing Trinidad and Tobago. In 2019, the Ross Cup will be the first Green Tournament to be played in Trinidad and Tobago. Academic Research: Provide research and data for the University of the West Indies sports research studies. The research programme is currently being headed by Dr. Akash Pooransingh and Dr. Sean Rocke.
