In its appellate jurisdiction it serves as a final court of appeal and, in its original jurisdiction, it protects the rights of citizens of the 12 CARICOM states under the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas. The CCJ employs various technological and administrative approaches to provide high quality justice, guaranteeing accessibility, fairness, efficiency and transparency.
